📢 How Majha Morya Received DPIIT Recognition: A Journey of Persistence & Innovation
Our Story So Far
Before diving into our DPIIT recognition, let’s take a step back and reflect on our journey, which we shared in our previous blog:
The Challenges of Selling Ganesh Idols Online & How Majha Morya Overcame Them.
Our journey began in 2014 with Morya Ganesh Art, selling just 57 Ganesh idols in our first year. The following year, we took a bold step and increased production to 210 idols. With growing ambitions, we rebranded to Morya Maaza, and soon, we became a local leader in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
This was the turning point where we decided to go beyond just selling idols and solve deeper problems for both devotees and artisans. We wanted to build a long-term, sustainable model rather than merely chasing numbers.
Reinventing Ourselves: The Birth of Majha Morya
After much introspection, we changed our brand name to Majha Morya, symbolizing a heart-to-heart connection with devotees. This marked the birth of our registered company, Majha Morya Creatives LLP (LLPIN: AAL-1050), based in Mumbai. We embraced digital transformation and launched our first-ever online platform: www.majhamorya.in.
“As we continued to grow, we took a crucial step to protect our brand identity by applying for trademark registration. Read more about why protecting ‘Majha Morya’ is essential:
Protecting Our Brand: Why You Shouldn’t Use Majha Morya in Your Business Name or Social Account.”
Rather than rapidly scaling, we focused on process improvement — refining logistics, supply chain, billing, inventory, and customer support. While this approach led to initial financial losses, we persisted because we believed in solving real business challenges rather than blindly expanding. We also made mistakes along the way, but whenever customers faced issues, we ensured full refunds — treating it as our learning cost to improve continuously. Despite these challenges, we maintained an impressive 98% customer satisfaction rate every year.
From 2017 to 2019, we experimented with multiple delivery models, but none were scalable. Yet, by 2020, our brand had organically crossed local boundaries and gained recognition across Maharashtra.
Scaling Beyond Maharashtra: A Game-Changer
In 2020, Friends of engineering from VIT Wadala College ordered Ganesh idols from Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. This led us to explore car and taxi-based delivery models, which taught us critical lessons about traffic conditions and delivery efficiency.
Slowly but steadily, our order volumes grew:
- 2023 — We expanded our deliveries to Ahmedabad.
- 2024 — We successfully delivered idols as far as Bengaluru.
With years of learnings and a solid track record, we decided to apply for DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) recognition under the Startup India program.
DPIIT Recognition: A Milestone for Majha Morya
Our application to the Startup India program was more than just paperwork — it was a testament to our commitment, resilience, and problem-solving mindset. We showcased: ✅ Our journey from a small business to a state-wide brand. ✅ Our innovative delivery solutions in a niche market. ✅ Our customer-first approach, ensuring quality and satisfaction. ✅ Our focus on digital transformation and operational excellence.
This recognition validates our efforts in revolutionizing the Ganesh idol market while staying true to our values of authenticity and service.
What’s Next? Expanding Nationwide!
Now, in 2025, we are expanding to Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad, further strengthening our presence across India.
